After thousands of interviews, I’ve learned exactly when a teleprompter helps — and when it wrecks the moment. Used well, it keeps delivery sharp and confident. Used badly, it makes people sound barely human. Most teleprompter apps are built for vloggers or broadcasters. They don’t fit how real shoots work — with lighting changes, nervous guests, and tight time windows. So I built my own studio teleprompter from the ground up: a lightweight, browser-based tool for filmmakers, content creators, and anyone who needs clean, natural on-camera delivery.
Paste, Format, and Go
You paste your script straight in — and the app auto-formats the text into short, readable lines. No clunky paragraphs, no hunting for where to look next. The layout is designed for the eye, breaking each sentence into natural 4–6-word lines that flow like normal speech.Once your script is in, just choose your display style and press play. The text scrolls perfectly, centred on screen, ready for smooth teleprompting in any environment — from a home rehearsal to a professional film studio.

Multiple Reading Styles
Everyone speaks differently, so the software includes several playback modes:Scroll Mode – a classic vertical scroll for straightforward reading.Zigzag Mode – shifts lines slightly left and right to reduce eye strain.Train Mode – words glide horizontally with a focus zone for precise pacing.Landing Mode – each line appears and drifts upward, ideal for slow reads.Dynamic Mode – kinetic text animations inspired by social video captions. These styles are gimmicks; but they are different gimmicks that help you find a rhythm that feels most human. Whether you’re recording a brand video, a pitch, or an interview, you can adapt the motion and speed until it fits your voice.
Built for Working Filmmakers
This isn’t another “mobile teleprompter” app with adverts and lag. It’s a filmmaking tool built for real-world production. It runs full-screen, supports mirroring for camera rigs, and includes live controls for speed, font size, and positioning. There’s even a countdown before playback so your subject can breathe and focus. I dont know why I am selling it so hard – I’m not selling it. It’s basically free for anyone – and on my website :-)This is the most important thing though — Because it’s browser-based, interviewees can practice their delivery at home using the exact same setup they’ll see in the studio. So when they turn up — their time in the studio is maximised. In the past I have seen clients turn up and I have spent 2 hours with them – helping them get used to it.
Why It Exists
Teleprompters aren’t about replacing authenticity — they’re about making performance easier. The right setup helps people speak naturally, remember key phrases, and stay calm under lights. This custom teleprompter software was built for that purpose: to help real people sound like themselves on camera. Paste your words, pick your mode, and start rolling.Simple. Practical. Designed by someone who’s been behind the lens for decades… yep thats me. I mean if I look at it really critically — its not perfect — but its better than other stuff I have used before 🙂
